Dressing for Interviews 101

First impressions are everything, especially when going to interviews.  Here are a few things to keep in mind when you are preparing to land your dream job.

  • Know the culture of the company (i.e. business casual, professional, etc.)
  • Plan and try on your outfit ahead of time
  • Check your clothes for tears, stains, or wrinkles
  • Regardless of dress code, dress conservatively
  • Avoid loud patterns
  • Clean/cut fingernails
  • Be sure to pull hair back away from your face
  • Trim facial hair
  • Wear minimal make-up/perfume/cologne
  • Leave accessories at the door (i.e. cell phones, sunglasses, etc.)
