“The caliber of a company’s carriers is of the utmost importance to any third-party logistics company,” says Steve Covey, Executive Vice President at Choptank. “We wanted to make sure we recognized those who were doing an outstanding job for us. It also helps when deciding between one or more carriers for a shipment. Knowing that a carrier is, or has been, on your Top 100 list, makes the decision easy.”

Choptank Transport has more than 26,000 pre-qualified carriers in its database, providing shipping services for both large and small companies. Finding the right carrier can be a difficult task with such considerations as location, price, type of freight, size of shipment and other variables.

The list was created using several criteria, including loyalty, reliability, safety and ease of doing business.  All recipients of the award were sent a letter of recognition and a Top 100 Carrier t-shirt.

Carriers are very ecstatic to learn they are on the list. One carrier said upon learning the news, “This is a real honor to be chosen by Choptank for this award. We scaled back recently in order to give the very best service possible. It’s nice to be appreciated.”

The selection includes carriers from the East Coast, West Coast and everywhere in between, from Maine to Florida and Delaware to Washington state.
