FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESTON, MD - National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is celebrated every year in September as a way to say “thank you” to our nation’s truck drivers. This year Choptank Transport will be marking the occasion by giving out over 300 gifts bags at the I-95 rest area/truck stop on Friday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Newark, Delaware.

The theme this year has grown from appreciating drivers to also focusing on their wellness.  The name of the celebration has now changed to National Truck Driver Appreciation & Wellness Week. In keeping with the new theme, Choptank Transport will include some healthy items in their giveaways this year, such as Chobani Free yogurt coupons, water bottles instead of sodas, and every bag will include a freshly picked apple from Fifer’s Orchard inWyoming,Delaware.

In addition to Chobani yogurt, Ice River Springs Water, and Fifer’s Orchard, many other companies have made generous donations, such as: Transport Alliance Bank, Transcore, Getloaded, Comdata, McLeod Software, D & S Factors, Bibby Financial Services, Maryland Motor Truck Association and other vendors.  Mugs, coozies, flashlight key chains, hats, t-shirts, stress balls, chapstick and cool pens are just some of the items that will be given out.

Truck drivers keepAmericamoving. They work long hours away from their families, driving through all kinds of weather to get our goods to market so we can have the luxury of shopping at our local supermarket or nearby mall.  It is important to remember our whole supply chain is non-existent without the invaluable services of these men and women.

Here is a brief market overview and report on all the factors driving the current market, our expectations for where it’s headed, and most importantly, how to manage this market and come out on top!
