Choptank Transport President/CEO, Geoff Turner, Elected as Chair of TIA

Alexandria, VA, April 23, 2013- Geoff Turner CTB, President & CEO, Choptank Transport, Inc., was elected Board Chair of the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA’s) Executive Committee during its 35th Annual Convention and Trade Show.

 

Turner's career in the transportation industry began over twenty years ago. "I’ve always had an interest in supply chain management, because of its vital role in modern industry," says Turner. This interest motivated him as he worked towards his Bachelor's degree in Business Management atUniversityofMaryland's College Park Campus, and then his Master's degree in Business Administration atSalisburyUniversity. Using his knowledge and experience from his business-focused education, Turner took a position as Vice President at Choptank Transport. As the company grew, his role within the company grew with it. Through hard work and a wise business strategy, he became the President and CEO.

Other TIA committee members are glad to see Turner elected to this post as well. “I have had the pleasure of being on the Executive Committee with Geoff for six years now and sought his advice many times when he served as Vice-Chair.  Geoff has a great sense of fairness and integrity.  He will represent the interests of all TIA members well.  He is the perfect person to Chair this association,” said Alec A. Gizzi, CTB, President, JBS Logistics, Inc.
