PRESTON, MD (June 17, 2016) – Choptank Transport has been awarded a 2016 Top Workplaces honor by The Washington Post. In its third annual survey, The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces list spotlights private, public, non-profit and government agencies with the highest ratings from their employees in a survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics.
Geoff Turner, President and CEO of Choptank, said, “Winning this award three years in a row is a real honor. We’ve always tried to create a culture that is challenging, rewarding and fun. Being named a top workplace is validation of how engaged and enthusiastic our people are in the workplace.”
“The winners of this award,” explained Pam Hutchinson, Vice President of Human Resources, “are determined entirely on the results of an employee engagement survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics for The Washington Post. So this is truly a testament to the passion and commitment level of our people. The recognition is fantastic but even better is the culture that got us here. We are just finishing a 10,000 square foot expansion which will allow us to bring more people into the organization and develop them into experts and leaders in our industry.
A total of 150 companies were awarded at a celebration on Thursday, June 16 at The Washington Post. In addition, Choptank Transport will be featured in a special section of The Washington Post on Sunday, June 19.
