Choptank Transport wanted to show its support for our troops this Memorial Day by reminding them how much we appreciate what they do. The employees donated empty shoe boxes and purchased a variety of food and gift items - enough to fill thirty-five shoe boxes to be sent to our men and women deployed overseas.
Dawn Millard, a Choptank Transport employee and Girl Scout troop leader, took her troop to purchase items using their own fundraising dollars for the Choptank care packages.
The employee’s generosity and response was overwhelming. Shoe boxes were packed full with hunting and fishing magazines, personal care items, cookies, Slim Jims, crackers, trail mix, personal care items, energy drinks and hand sanitizer. These boxes will be sent overseas by way of Operation Shoe Box, www.operationshoebox.com.
