The expansion is part of Choptank’s strategic plan to grow its nationwide freight management company from nearly 400 employees to more than 700 in the next five years. Choptank provides over 280 jobs at its Caroline County campus alone and continues to thrive and grow in the home community from which the company was founded. Choptank’s decision to add another facility locally is a result of getting near capacity in Preston. The new building will house 150 plus employees with 20,000 square feet of office space for Choptank’s sales and operations departments.

The location of the space under contract is 8338 Elliott Road, situated on the corner of Matthewstown and Elliott Roads. It is a familiar building to those who live and work in Easton due to its close proximity to the highly trafficked shopping areas of Giant and Walmart. Some know it as the Rio Del Mar building. Rio Del Mar is remaining in the area but will be moving to a new location nearby.

Choptank is hiring now for its Preston office as well as all of its regional locations across the United States, including Baltimore, Tampa, Denver, Dallas and Atlanta.
