Choptank Transport Golf Event Raises 35K for Heroes

Choptank Transport Distributes $24,000 in Student Loan Paydown Benefits

Choptank Transport is pleased to announce it has awarded $24,000 to 18 qualifying employees through the company's 2020 student loan paydown program, and a total of $87,000 since initiating the perk three years ago.

When launched in 2017, student loan paydown benefits were a rare and unusual offering.  Even today, finding employers who provide this kind of program is like finding a black cat in a coal mine. According to a 2018 survey done by the Society of Human Resource Management, only 4 percent of the nation's workforce offered the benefit.

Adshead Joins Choptank Transport through Youth Apprenticeship Program

PRESTON, MD – January 27, 2020, Choptank Transport is pleased to announce the addition of Skye Adshead to the company’s Preston, Maryland, headquarters.  Adshead is the first high school student hired at Choptank through Youth Apprenticeship - Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Program (MATP), a Department of Labor initiative that requires employers to apply and receive state approval.  Choptank was approved on January 15, 2020, and hired its first apprentice on January 24, 2020.
